Description: Antique print titled 'Overblyfsels van 't Huis te Brederode'. Two views of the ruin of Brederode, the Netherlands. This print was published in two books 'Het verheerlykt Nederland of kabinet van hedendaagsche gezigten' (1752) and 'Nederlandsche tafereelen; of eene keurige verzameling (..)' (1792). This print originates from one of the sources, to be determined.
Artists and Engravers: Hendrik Spilman was a Dutch engraver and artist. Spilman was a pupil of Abraham de Haen Jr. (1707–1748). In 1742 he became a member of the St. Lucas Gilde in Haarlem and gained fame for his drawings and engraved views of towns and buildings.
