- Condition: Good, given age. Repaired tear bottom margin, barely touching the lower outline of image. A few minor crinkles. Original middle fold as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Description: Antique print, titled: 'Eleazer's Bold Enterprize (…).' - This plate shows Eleazer killing a war elephant as was described in 1 Maccabees 6:42-47. The title of this print is below the image in 6 languages. Source unknown, to be determined. Ref: IconClass 71Z171.
Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Bernard Picart'. Bernard Picart (1673-1733). He was a French painter and engraver. He received his art education from his father, Etienne (1632-1721), from Le Brun and Jouvenet at the Royal Academy. His talents developed rapidly: at the age of sixteen he gained honors at the Academy of Paris.He was born in Paris and died in Amsterdam. Other engravers worked on this work as well.
