Description: Antique print, titled: 'Histoire Sainte. - Ancien Testament. Abraham vainqueur des 4 Rois recoit la Benediction de Melchisedech' - This plate shows a scene from the Old Testament; Abraham, winner of the 4 Kings receives the blessing of Mechizedek.

From a Rare set of 60 plates showing scenes from the Old Testament of the Catholic Bible, from the creation of Adam and Eve, to the persecution of the Maccabees. Mostly from the books of Genesis, Exodus, Judges, Samuel and Kings, but also from Job, Jonah, Tobias, Esther, Judith, Daniel and Ezechial. Published in Paris: Dezobry et E. Magdeleine (Lithographie Becquet freres) c. 1840.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Henry Jean Becquet' after an anonymous artist. Henry Jean Becquet (1812-1855) was a French lithographer.
