Description: Antique print titled '81. Un Carbet. 82. Une famille'. Tinted crayon style lithograph on chine-collee (thin china paper) on wove (vellin) paper. It depicts a home for slaves and a slave family. This print originates from 'Voyage a Surinam. Description des possessions Neerlandaises dans La Guyane' by P.J. Benoit.
Artists and Engravers: Lithographed by Madou. Jean Baptiste Madou (1786-1877) was a Belgian painter, etcher and renowned pioneer lithographer.
