Description: Antique print titled 'Joan Nieuhoff'. Old portrait of Johan Nieuhof originating from Nieuhof's Latin edition titled 'Legatio Batavica ad magnum Tartariae chamum Sungteium (..)', which described the first embassy of the Dutch East India Company to the court of the Emperor of China during the years 1655 to 1657, led by Pieter de Goyer and Jakob de Keyserby.
Artists and Engravers: Johan / Jan / Johannes Nieuhof / Nieuhoff / Neuhof (1618-1672) was a Dutch traveler who wrote about his journeys to Brazil, China and India.
