Description: Antique print, titled: 'Sigibertus I Metensis Rex (…)' - Original and very rare antique print showing a full length portrait of Sigebert I (c. 535 – c. 575), the Germanic king of Austrasia from the death of his father in 561 to his own death. He was the third surviving son out of four of Clotaire I and Ingund. His reign found him mostly occupied with a successful civil war against his half-brother, Chilperic.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Gaspare Oselli ' after 'Francesco Terzi'. Made by 'Gaspare Oselli' after an anonymous artist. Gaspare Oselli, Gaspare ab Avibus, Gaspar Patavinus (1536 - 1577). Engraver; half-brother of Niccolo Nelli. Many of his works are unacknowledged copies of plates by other engravers. Made plates for Francesco Terzi's 'Austriacae Gentis Imagines', published over a number of years.
