Description: Antique print titled 'Ontmoeting van den Jongen Prins Frederik van Oranje, bij gelegenheid der Installatie van Deszelfs doorluchtigen Vader, Willem V, te Leeuwarden den 29. Augustus 1777.' (Encounter of the young Prince Frederik of Oranje, by occasion of the installation of his Royal father in Leeuwarden, August 29 1777.) The Royal family is strolling over the market with Kermis like activities.
This scarse original old antique print / engraving originates from: 'Het Leven van Willem George Frederik, Prince van Orange.' (The Life of ...), by J.P. van Ginkel, published in Rotterdam, 1802. Willem George Frederik, Prince of Oranje-Nassau (Den Haag 1774 - Padua 1799), also called Fritz, was the youngest son of King Willem V and Wilhelmina of Prussia. He became a great and brave military leader in the defence against the invading French into the Netherlands.
