  • Technic: Engraving on hand laid paper.
  • Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. A printer's crease in the right edge (from the lower margin to the middle of the image). A crease from the lower margin a little way into the image. Lower margin cropped to the platemark. Paper erosion in the top platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Description: Antique map, untitled. Detailed map of the area around Zaandam in North Holland, centered on the Ye (IJ). Windmills, watermills, paper mill and dykes are all depicted, as well as the villages Oostzaan and Westzaner-Overtoom. Part of a larger wall map.

This map is part of a larger map: "Afbeeldinge van de wydvermaarde en beroemde koopstad Amsteldam met d'omleggende landen / gemeten en getekent door Gerrit Drogenham". Published in Amsterdam by R. & I. Ottens [ca. 1750]. This map was originally published by Nicolaes Visscher.
