Description: Antique print, titled: 'Frisiae Liberae a Flevo in Lavicam (…)' - This map shows a map of north Netherlands and Germany in ancient times. It focuses on the region of Friesland, Groningen. The title cartouche mythological figures depicting abundance, justice and rural life. From: 'Descriptio, secundum antiquos, agri Batavi et Frisii (…)', published in Amsterdam by H. Wetstein in 1697-1701. This was the first historic description of the Netherlands.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Ger. De Broen after Menso Alting. Cartographer: Menso Alting (1637-1713), Dutch cartographer and mayor of Groningen.
