Description: Antique map titled 'Chart of Part of the Coast of New South Wales from Cape Tribulation to Endeavour Straits'. Rare and the first printed map concentrating on a section of Australia's east coast. This map, prepared by Cook himself, details the tracks and anchorages of the Endeavour as the expedition sailed north along the coastline in 1770.
Artists and Engravers: Cook was the most important navigator of the Age of Enlightenment, a period that saw the mystery of the Southland resolved, the discovery of New Zealand, Hawaii, numerous Pacific Islands and confirmation that a Northwest Passage did not exist.
