.. Antique Mycology Print of the Agaricus Campestris by Fries (c.1860)

Description: Antique mycology print titled 'Agaricus (Psalliota) Campestris'. Agaricus campestris is a widely eaten gilled mushroom closely related to the cultivated button mushroom Agaricus bisporus. It is commonly known as the field mushroom or, in North America, meadow mushroom. This print originates from 'Sveriges ätliga och giftiga svampar tecknade efter naturen'. Published in Stockholm, circa 1860.

Artists and Engravers: Elias Magnus Fries (15 August 1794 – 8 February 1878) was a Swedish mycologist and botanist.
