.. De zwarte Pijnboom (..) - Cook (1803)

Description: Antique botany print titled 'De Zwarte Pijnboom van Nieuw-Zeeland'. Old botany print depicting the Pinus Nigra, or black pine of New Zealand. In New Zealand it is considered an invasive species and noxious weed, along with lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), due to their habitat conversion nature in tussockgrassland plant communities, shading out the native bunch grasses as their forest canopy develops. Originates from 'Reizen Rondom de Waereld door James Cook (..)'.
