This pair shows two powerful British eagle subjects:
Plate CXXXII: Golden Eagle
Plate CXXXIII: White-Tailed Eagle, also known as the Sea Eagle
Both plates are finely rendered in monochrome with soft tonal shading, showing the birds perched on rocky coastal or mountain settings. The restrained black-and-white treatment gives the works a strong, elegant and timeless decorative quality. They would make a beautiful pair for a library, study, country house, naturalist interior, or collector’s gallery wall.
