Set of three antique prints of various figures from India. These prints originate from 'Atlas Historique' published by Chatelain, 1732.
Plate 1: Figure 1: 'Begum Saheb ...' (The tale of the princess Begum Saheb and king Chah-Jehan ... on this plate women are offering a botle with poison.) Figure 2: 'Regiaput ...' (A Brahman nobleman and his wife and their eating and tea drinking habits.) Figure 3: (A Brahman lady orders her female servant to fetch water in 2 bowls. The servant wears the typical pearls in het ears and nose.) Figure 4: (Six Mogul Muslims gather around the Koran that is in the middle of them. 3 Speak verses, the other 3 repeat.)
Plate 2: Figure 5: 'Yxora ...' (The idol Yxora or Vedan / Bed / Beth of the Brahmans, an idol with 4 heads, 4 hands and 2 feet. The hands are typically holding 4 books to teach on law and religion.)
