Original antique architectural engraving of the Parthenon in Athens, combining a reconstructed view of its principal façade with a detailed ground plan of the temple.
The upper section, titled “Vue de la Façade Antérieure du Parthénon,” presents the celebrated Doric temple as it may have appeared in antiquity. The reconstruction shows the monumental columned façade and sculptural decoration of the pediment, with small classical figures included for scale.
Below is a separate architectural plan titled “Plan du Parthénon,” clearly illustrating the temple’s rectangular peristyle, arrangement of columns and internal structure. Greek, metric and French measurement scales appear beneath the plan.
The Parthenon was constructed on the Acropolis of Athens in the 5th century BC and dedicated to the goddess Athena. It remains one of the defining monuments of classical Greek architecture and an enduring symbol of ancient Athens.

Condition:
Good antique condition with general age toning, scattered foxing and occasional small stains and marks, particularly in the margins. Old mounting or tape residue is visible along the upper margin. Minor wear and discoloration along the sheet edges. The engraved image remains strong, clear and highly detailed. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
