.. Antique Plan of Groningen by Hoffmann (1673)

Description: Antique print, titled: 'Groeninga.' - Plan of Groningen, The Netherlands. From 'Der verunruhigte Hollandische Low…', (and Continuatio, Dritter Theil, Vierdter Theil) by Amadeum von Fridleben, published in Nurenberg by Johann Hoffmann, 1673. This rare work describes the history of the Dutch war from 1671-1673 translated in German from Dutch sources and is quite rare.

Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Fridleben (author) - based on other mostly Dutch sources.'. We found an engraver/etcher associated with this work to be Hipschman, whose name is on one of the plates. Possibly Sigmund Gabriel Hipschmann (1639-?) who was a German painter and engraver from Nurenberg.
