A highly decorative and cohesive set of six original 19th-century Paris engravings, published by Chamouin in Paris circa 1855, from the celebrated series Vues de Paris, prises au daguerréotype. This refined group captures the French capital through some of its most elegant urban spaces and architectural landmarks, rendered with exceptional clarity derived from early photographic sources.
The set includes views of the Fontaine de la Place Louvois, Château des Tuileries, Église Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois, Palais Royal, La Bourse, and a Vue prise du Pont Neuf. Together, these scenes present a rich cross-section of Parisian life and architecture, from grand civic buildings and royal gardens to intimate squares and bustling river views. Each composition is animated with finely detailed figures in period dress, horse-drawn carriages, and everyday activity, offering a vivid glimpse into the rhythm and elegance of mid-19th-century Paris.

Condition:
Overall in good condition for age, with typical light toning and occasional spotting to the margins. Minor handling wear and age-related marks. Plate impressions visible. Strong, clean impressions with good detail and contrast.
Framing tips:
Best displayed as a unified gallery wall in a 2x3 layout. Particularly effective in dark walnut or ebonized frames with wide ivory or off-white mats for a classic museum presentation. For a lighter, more contemporary look, thin black or bronze frames with crisp white mats will enhance the architectural clarity.
