Description: Antique map titled 'Circulus Saxoniae Inferioris (..)'. Map of the Circle of Lower Saxony. The map covers most of present-day northern Germany, as far south as Göttingen, including most of Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt & Schleswig-Holstein. Berlin is marked directly above the decorative title cartouche. 

Artists and Engravers: Johann Baptist Homann (1663-1724) was a mapmaker who founded the famous Homann Heirs publishing company. He lived his entire life in Bavaria, particularly in Nuremberg.
