Eleazar Albin was one of Britain’s first significant ornithological illustrators. His works, including A Natural History of Birds, combined scientific accuracy with fine artistic hand coloring to produce some of the earliest natural history illustrations drawn directly from life in England. Albin’s prints were made for early naturalists, scholars, and wealthy patrons, reflecting the Enlightenment-era passion for documenting and classifying the natural world.
