Antique Print of a Japanese Sedan Chair by Van Schley (1758)

Description: Antique print titled 'Chaise à Porteurs du Japon - Japansche Draag-Zetel'. Old print depicting a Japanese litter or sedan chair. Sedan chairs were known in Japan as koshi, ren, norimono and kago. This print originates from a Dutch edition of Prévost's 'Histoire générale des Voyages'.
