This image showcases two lithographs of primates, drawn by Carel Christiaan Antony Last for Heinrich Rudolf Schinz's *Volledige Natuurlijke Historie der Zoogdieren* (1836). These detailed depictions were printed by S. de Visser en Zoon in The Hague as part of a broader effort to document and catalog various species for European audiences.
The first lithograph (Pl. 35) shows the *Saimiri* and the *Nachtaap met den Kattenkop* (Night Monkey with Cat Head). The *Saimiri*, more commonly known as a squirrel monkey, is portrayed crouched and alert, while the *Nachtaap* is shown climbing a branch. The careful attention to the proportions and fur texture of these monkeys highlights their unique characteristics and behaviors.
The second lithograph (Pl. 36) features the *Mico* and the *Zijdenaap met Witte Ooren* (Silky Monkey with White Ears). The *Mico* is shown climbing with agility, while the *Zijdenaap* rests on a branch, its striped tail curled in a distinctive posture.
