Original color plate from the celebrated Collection Henry d'Allemagne, depicting La Salle d'Études (The Study Room), a richly furnished domestic interior combining Art Nouveau and historicist influences. The composition features carved wood paneling, an ornate fireplace, Delft-style faience displays, decorative portraits, and a monumental tapestry landscape, offering a rare glimpse into elite French decorative taste at the turn of the twentieth century.
Henry-René d'Allemagne (1863–1950), noted art historian, collector, and curator, assembled remarkable interiors inspired by European and Eastern decorative traditions. His publications remain important visual documents for collectors and scholars of historic design.
