The print originates from a German edition published around 1745, after the designs and teachings of Gérard de Lairesse (1641–1711). Unlike medical illustrations, these plates focus on idealized anatomy, proportion, and artistic harmony rather than dissection.

Condition
Good antique condition. Original laid paper with light, even age toning. Minor scattered foxing and faint surface marks, mainly in the margins. Slight edge wear consistent with age. Clear and strong plate impression visible. No major tears or restorations.

A black, dark walnut, or ebonized frame pairs well with the graphic strength of the engraving. Use a wide off-white or light grey mat to maintain an academic, museum-style presentation. UV-protective glass is recommended.
