.. No. 1 Antique Costume Print by Lipperheide (1873)

Description: Antique costume print titled 'Blätter zur Kostüm-Geschichte'. This print shows many costumes including costumes of Paris / France, Leipzig / Germany and others. Originates from the magazine 'Modenwelt'.

Artists and Engravers: Franz von Lipperheide was a trained bookseller. In Berlin, he first worked in a fashion publishing house, which brought out the fashion magazine Bazar. There he met his first wife Frieda Gestefeld. In 1865 he founded the publishing house Franz Lipperheide in Berlin and began publishing the fashion magazine Modenwelt whose leadership later took over his wife. The magazine had great success, it even followed spending abroad. Expanded to an entertainment section, the magazine appeared in 1874 as a women’s magazine.
