About this sheet

Antique print titled 'Ketopat Verkoopster - Marchande de Ketoepat'. Colored lithograph of a Javanese woman selling ketupat. Ketupat is a rice-based food that is wrapped in the webbing of young coconut leaves or “janur” in Javanese language. This print originates from 'Nederlandsch Oost-Indische typen' after work by Auguste van Pers (1815-1871) a Dutch artist who spent most of his life in the East Indies. Lithographed by Mieling.
