About this sheet
An authentic, perfect and bright, originally hand-colored, illustration of 4 Parakeets: La Perruche de Mahe, La Perruche a gorge Tachetee, La Perruche Cornu and La Perruche couronnee d'Or.
Drawn on parchment paper (copper engraving). It has a fine shining because of the authenticly applied egg-yolk as varnish. The Artist is Robert Bernard (1792). The illustration is plate number 224 from ''Encyclopédie méthodique: Histoire Naturelle, Ornithologie', by Panckoucke (Paris), after the famous Encyclopédie by Diderot and d'Alembert.
