This magnificent hand-colored engraving showcases a "Großkreuz des St. Stephans Orden" (Grand Cross of the Order of St. Stephen), an order founded in 1764 by Maria Theresa of Austria. The figure depicted is dressed in a lavish ceremonial robe of rich red and green, intricately decorated with golden acanthus leaves. The regal garment is further accentuated with ermine trims and a ceremonial white headdress adorned with a feather, reflecting the grandeur of the Order.
