Antique Victorian Fern Botanical Prints Set, Polypodium Studies Wall Art 1856
A striking and highly decorative set of eight Victorian botanical fern prints depicting species within the genus Polypodium, originating from Edward Joseph Lowe’s celebrated publication Ferns: British and Exotic, issued in London by Groombridge & Sons in 1856.
These hand-colored lithographs were produced during the height of the Victorian fern fascination — the period known as “Pteridomania” — when ferns became symbols of refinement, intellectual curiosity, and ornamental elegance.
