Les Secrets de l'Amour – Original French Color Stipple Engraving c.1800
A beautiful original French color stipple engraving titled Les Secrets de l'Amour (The Secrets of Love), engraved by Alexandre Chaponnier after a design by Augustin Legrand and published in Paris by Charles Bance around 1800.
This refined neoclassical composition combines elements of still life and allegory. At the center stands a sculptural group depicting Cupid embracing a young woman, symbolizing affection, devotion, and the mysteries of love.
