The composition combines classical subject matter with lively maritime activity: fishermen haul nets in the foreground, boats glide across the Bay of Naples, and distant buildings and mountainous silhouettes complete the expansive landscape. The scene belongs to the highly regarded school of engraved Neapolitan views produced for the French aristocratic market in the mid-18th century, often after works by Vernet, Boulogne or Bourguignon, and executed by leading engravers such as Le Mire.

Good condition overall. Strong and crisp impression. Scattered foxing throughout margins and visible in lighter areas of the sky, typical for 18th-century laid paper. Light handling creases near the right margin. No tears, losses or repairs. Plate mark clear and margins wide.

Framing tips:
A warm walnut or lightly distressed gold frame suits the 18th-century character of the print and complements its tonal contrasts. A cream or light ivory mat will soften the foxing in the margins and draw focus toward the central image. For a cleaner contemporary presentation, a thin black frame with a wide white mat provides crisp contrast while preserving the historic feel.
