Description: Antique print, titled: 'Scops Flammeola.' - Rare antique print showing the flammulated owl (Psiloscops flammeolus).

This attractive and rare print originates from the sumptuous work 'The new and heretofore unfigured species of the birds of North America', published 1866-1869. Of this work only 200 copies were printed. Lithographic printing by Bowen & Co. of Philadelphia.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Daniel Giraud Elliot' after 'Edwin Sheppard'. Made by an anonymous lithographer after J. Wolf. Daniel Giraud Elliot (1835-1915) was an American zoologist and the author of the described work.
