  • Condition: Good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. A few small tears in the lower margin (not affecting image, closed with acid-free archival tape). Sheet edges a little browned. Left margin edge uneven. A small tear in the middle of the middle fold (only visible when the sheet is folded). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Description: Antique print, titled: 'Tempel met Duysent Beelden.' - The Temple of Sanjusangen-Do in Kyoto, dedicated to the Thousand Armed Kannon. The central statue is that of Kannon. In front of the main statue are 28 smaller statues of guardian deities. Additionally, a thousand statues of Kannon were present (seen to the left and right). Arnoldus Montanus' "Gedenkwaerdige Gesantschappen der Oost-Indische Maatschappy in 't Vereenigde Nederland aan de Kaisaren van Japan […].
