Antique Genealogy Chart of the Royal Line of Saxon Chief Witikind by Chatelain (1732)

Description: Antique print titled 'Carte Genealogique des principaux Souverains (..)'. Chart of the entire royal line of the great Saxon chief Witikind. Witikind was one of the principal leaders in the Saxon revolt against Charlemagne, he survived numerous invasions but was finally forced to surrender in 785, when he was baptized into the Catholic church. This print orginates from 'Atlas Historique'. 

Artists and Engravers: Henri Abraham Chatelain (1684-1743), his father Zacharie Chatelain (d.1723) and Zacharie Junior (1690-1754), worked as a partnership publishing the Atlas Historique.
