Description: Antique print titled ‚Franequerae, Excudit Franciscus Halma, MDCCIX‘. This print orginates from ‚Biblia Graeca / Vetus Testamentum ex versione septuaginta interpretum, secundum exemplar Vaticanum Romae editum, Accuratissime denno recognitum, Una cum Scholiis ejusdem editionis, ariis Mstorum Codicum Veterumque Exemplarium Lectionibus, nec non fragmentis versionum aquilae, symmachi & Theodotionis. Summa cura edidit Lambertus Bos (..)’. 

Artists and Engravers: François Halma, born 3 January 1653 at Langerak, and died at Leeuwarden 13 January 1722, was printer and publisher. Since 1674 he was active in Utrecht as bookseller and later as academic printer. In 1699 he moved to Amsterdam, where he was active till 1711. On 10 May 1701 he was appointed as academic printer in Franeker and in 1709 he got the appointment by the States of Friesland as landscape printer. He moved to Leeuwarden and there he published maps and atlases from Nicolaas Witsen, Bernard Schotanus à Sterringa and Menno Alting.
