Antique Print of a Couple seated underneath a Porch by Dusart (c.1690)

Description: Antique master print titled 'La Jeunesse 2. Age'. Antique mezzotint depicting a couple seated underneath a porch overgrown with vine outside an inn; pitchers and pipes on the table at left; the landlord writing prices on a board next to the door in centre background and a kissing couple in right background; from a series of four plates published by Gole in Amsterdam. 

Artists and Engravers: Cornelis Dusart (1660-1704) was a pupil of Adriaen van Ostade. He specialized in highly finished works of art on paper with genre subject matter. Dsart made many prints in mezzotint, which are very close to his washed pen drawings.
