Description: Antique print titled ‘Gezigt van de Plaats op ’t Eiland Juan Fernandes daar de Tent van den Kommandeur stont‘. View of a field with tents and European men conversing. One man plays with a dog. Also includes goat. This print originates from "Anson's voyages" published 1749.

Artists and Engravers: Commodore George Anson circumnavigated the globe between 1740 and 1744 in the Centurion with five other ships, none of which completed the voyage. After sailing through the Strait of Magellan, three of the ships, manned by crews sick with scurvy, met up at the Juan Fernández Islands where the men recovered their health. The island had been stocked with goats by the Spanish to support the crews who stopped there.
